The Proposal
It was our 5th anniversary of dating and Jason had planned a lovely picnic in the foothills for our annual Christmas tree hunt/anniversary celebration. Being at the end of November, it was the perfect time of year to find our Christmas tree and have nice day of winter activities in the snow. On the morning of November 25 2018, the day started like normal and we packed our picnic, camera gear, as well as an axe for cutting down the tree. We headed out towards the Rocky Mountains where we had a permit to chop down our Christmas tree - we went down a beautiful snowy mountain road and found a clearing with a treed perimeter. We explored this spot for a while, looking for the perfect tree! After a bit of hunting, we decided that it would be fun to set up the tripod to take a few self portraits. Madison set the timer, posed Jason, and started to run to him for the photo. Once she reached him and the self timer started to take pictures, Jason got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. We fell into the snow crying and hugging and laughing - it was the best moment ever!
